Took my family here for a meal tonight and was pleasantly surprised. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a very cheery young man called Jack who took us to our table and handed us menus and cutlery and took our drink order. Once we ordered our starter (the big platter) was there in jig time. Once it came everyone of our eyes lit up. It was big as the menu said and included everything but the kitchen sink. Once that wad finished our mains came minutes later. I had the carbonara. This was better than some I've tasted in Italian restaurants. The rest of the family had burgers which were also lovely and fresh and the wee man had the kids chicken nuggets which il add were real chicken. Not your McDonald's muck I was too full for dessert but the kids had chocolate cake with ice cream. This i know they enjoyed because we had silence for a few minutes. Overall if your fed up with weatherspoons rubbish and medicore service and quality you get elsewhere give sparkys bar and lounge a visit. Reasonable prices, quality food and very good service. That good I even left a tip lol You'll be pleasantly surprised. Oh yeah and they let dogs in the bar area so you don't need to leave your dog at home

THIS PLACE IS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. best pint of lager I've had in a long time and have a great selection of beers. Guinness on draught or a special machine, also a cocktail machine. the staff couldn't be nicer and I received a very warm welcome with my 2 dogs and they even made friends with the resident dog sparky. Best pub in town. Well worth a visit
